What is Embodiment in Clinical Practice?

November 18th, 2023
12 noon to 1:30 PM, EST

Humans are fundamentally embodied! While clinicians starting with Freud have either explicitly or implicitly endorsed this idea there is no agreement about just what embodiment means in clinical practice. There is much to be learned from the many perspectives on embodiment that have recently been advanced. For this reason, we have brought together clinicians who hold a variety of different views on embodiment to lead off our “Conversations on Embodiment” series.  Roger Frie, Lynne Jacobs, William Cornell, Nancy Winters, and Steven Knoblauch will answer questions posed by Jon Sletvold and Doris Brothers. After they dialogue together, members of the online audience will be invited to join the conversation.
